With an extensive career in the port and logistics sector of the archipelago, Bernardino Santana has been appointed Corporate Director of Boluda Corporación Marítima in the Canary Islands, succeeding Javier Climent following his appointment in December 2024 as General Manager of Boluda Shipping.
From this position, Santana will assume responsibilities related to the maritime connectivity of the islands with mainland Spain, Northern Europe, and the West African coast. A seasoned professional in the port and logistics sector of the Canary Islands, he currently serves as Director and Board Member of Boluda & Suárez, one of the leading operators in the region, specializing in integrated logistics and project cargo, with a strong presence across the main ports of the archipelago.
Throughout his career, he has been closely linked to the growth and modernization of the port sector in the islands, contributing to the evolution of historic companies in the maritime and logistics fields and developing a profile that bridges business, industry, and territory. He also serves as Deputy to the President of Fedeport, where he actively promotes dialogue among companies, public administrations, and social stakeholders. Under his leadership, Boluda & Suárez has become a benchmark in sustainability, becoming the first company in the sector to certify compliance with all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In a fragmented territory highly dependent on maritime transport, the port system is a structural pillar for ensuring supply, business competitiveness, and the integration of the Canary Islands into international trade flows. In this context, the archipelago’s geostrategic position reinforces its role as a strategic hub in the Mid-Atlantic, and Boluda Corporación Marítima plays a key role in the functioning of the island logistics system by ensuring regular, stable, and competitive connections between the islands and mainland Spain, Northern Europe, and the West African coast.
With this appointment, Boluda Corporación Marítima strengthens its management structure, consolidating a corporate and cross‑cutting function that is essential for the coordination, development, and projection of its maritime and logistics activity from the Canary Islands.
