This participation strengthens Boluda Corporación Marítima’s ties with Cantabria and reinforces its commitment to the region’s economic and business development, contributing its expertise in the maritime, port and logistics sectors, as well as its understanding of the needs of the industrial community.
The company will be represented by Daniel Berasategui, Corporate Director of the Northern Region. The appointment was formalized during the session held at the headquarters of the Port Authority of Santander.
Berasategui stated: “For Boluda Corporación Marítima, joining the Plenary of the Cantabria Chamber of Commerce is both a great privilege and an opportunity to reaffirm our growing commitment to the region. Our activity in Santander generates a direct and increasingly significant impact across the territory, contributing to job creation, strengthening the industrial fabric and improving the competitiveness of Cantabrian companies. From here, our area of influence extends across northern Spain, facilitating efficient logistics solutions for exporters and importers while reinforcing the strategic role of the Port of Santander as a key gateway connecting Cantabria with national and international markets.”
Boluda has operated in Cantabria since 2023, deploying its intermodal portfolio through its terminal Boluda Maritime Terminals (BMT) Santander. The terminal has established itself as a strategic hub for the logistics industry in northern Spain. BMT Santander experienced significant growth during 2025, exceeding 150,000 TEUs, a milestone that reflects market confidence and the strength of its operating model. The terminal also benefits from upgraded infrastructure that enables the simultaneous operation of two vessels and is currently completing the final phase of a 10,422 m² expansion project.
In addition, BMT Santander has been granted a further 20,386 m² extension, which will be used to build a new facility dedicated to container repair, cross-docking services and warehousing activities, further enhancing its operational capacity and international competitiveness.
These investments reinforce a value proposition based on reliability, efficiency and flexibility. Combined with the natural protection offered by Santander Bay, they enable year-round operations, ensuring schedule integrity, operational continuity and high-quality service standards.
The Port of Santander also plays a strategic role within European logistics networks. Integrated into the Trans-European Transport Network, it is one of Spain’s nine strategic nodes on the Atlantic Corridor and a benchmark for ro-ro cargo traffic and rail-port intermodality along the country’s northern seaboard.
Boluda Corporación Marítima’s participation in the Plenary will strengthen collaboration with regional institutions and the Cantabrian business community, contribute its maritime and logistics expertise, and continue fostering a more competitive, connected and sustainable Cantabria.
