Boluda Corporación Marítima has collaborated with the non-governmental organization Nuevo Futuro with the donation of a 40-foot container to provide disaster relief for the people of Haiti following the serious damage caused by Hurricane Matthew in early october.

The hurricane affected more than two million Haitians, including half a million children, killing more than a thousand.

This humanitarian initiative to help NGOs transport aid to third world countries is part of Boluda Corporación Marítima’s Humanitarian Transport program, in line with their corporate social responsibility policy.

Through its charity project Humanitarian Transport Boluda Corporación Marítima collaborates with various NGOs and aid agencies. Among other activities the company donates Boluda containers and offers free space on its container ships to countries such as Senegal, Mauritania or Morocco to help NGOs transport humanitarian aid to disadvantaged countries or humanitarian crises.

During this aid collection campaign taking place in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with logistic collaboration from the Colegio de las Dominicas and the Tenerife port authority, the NGO Nuevo Futuro has organised the delivery of about two tons of wheat, clothing and school supplies to Haiti for children affected by Hurricane Matthew.
