The Association of Entrepreneurs and Professionals of Valencia (EVAP) also presented the Integrity and Diversity awards, won by philosopher Adela Cortina and engineer Nuria Oliver
Boluda Corporación Marítima is at the forefront in appointing women to senior management positions, with 22% of managerial jobs held by women
Boluda Cargo Int’l manager Eva García Bosch presented the Professionalism Award to the biologist María Blasco, manager of the National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO), at the event organized on October 19 by the Association of Entrepreneurs and Professionals of Valencia (EVAP), of which Garcia Bosch is treasurer, to mark the tenth anniversary of the annual awards ceremony.
Also receiving awards at the event were the philosopher Adela Cortina, Professor of Ethics at the Universitat de València and director of the Étnor Foundation, who received the Integrity Award, and the AI specialised engineer Nuria Oliver, scientific data manager at Sata-Poplliance, presented with the Diversity Award. On 9 October Cortina received the Highest Distinction award from the Generalitat.
According to the organization, these awards are focused on women with exemplary careers, and are intended to “shine a light on woman entrepreneurs, managers and outstanding professionals”, who propose new models for female success, challenging stereotypes and laying the foundations for a new professional culture.
President of EVAP Eva Blasco commented: “These kinds of events make us proud, because it proves that we are achieving one of the main objectives of the EVAP Awards, which is to raise visibility of the professional careers of women who reflect our foundational values: diversity, integrity and professionalism. “
EVAP, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, also awards a prize to an associate: this year to the president of the BPW Legislative Committee and tourism sector entrepreneur Enrichetta Bellini.
Among guests to the event were the President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig; and representing Boluda Corporación Marítima in addition to Eva García Bosch, Communication and Institutional Relations manager Amparo Valero and managing director of Offshore y Salvamento Marítimo Charo Coll.
It is worth noting that Boluda Corporación Marítima is at the forefront in appointing women to senior management positions, as this company has “22% of women in management positions”, a figure aligned with the 27% of management positions in the business sector in Spain, according to “Women in business: diverse visions, joint solutions”, a report prepared by the accounting and consulting firm Grant Thornton.
