Boluda Corporación Marítima has collaborated in the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria San Silvestre charity run, donating three containers for the charity sports event organizers to use as a structure for the starting and finish line in the Doramas gardens, and also as the stage for the band providing entertainment during the popular race. 10,000 runners took part in the 15th edition, 1,000 more than in 2015.
Boluda Corporación Marítima supports this type of event as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility program, an initiative to back sports, cultural and social events organized in Spain. On this occasion, the containers were used as logistical support for the event organizers, Top Time Eventos, for the starting line of the race and as the stage for the music platform that animated the event.
1,000 runners registered and the seven euros each participant gave to obtain a number raised 7,000 euros to support charity projects.
This year the money raised has been donated to six organisations: Aldeas Infantiles SOS, CEA(R) Refugee Aid, Las Palmas Red Cross, the Forja Foundation, Médicos del Mundo Canarias and UNICEF.
Participants ran a 6k urban course parallel to the seafront of La Palmas port. Youngsters also had the opportunity to compete on the last afternoon of 2016, in a 600m children’s fun run around the block with the same starting point at the Doramas gardens.
