The vessels are to be employed in the ports of Nantes and Dunkirk

Boluda France has extended its fleet with the incorporation of the VB Typhon and VB Tempête tugs, which will operate in the ports of Dunkirk and Nantes, respectively. The two vessels join the VB Ouragan and the VB Cyclone, which were also delivered to the port of St. Nazaire last December.

The twin VB Typhon and VB Tempête tugs were built in the Piriou shipyards. The tugs’ LOA is 30.30 metres, with a 10.40m beam and 5m depth; they are equipped with 5,300 HP of power and have a bollard pull of 70 tonnes. These tugs have been designed to operate both in port and at sea, and are equipped with fire-fighting and marine-pollution equipment.
The two tugs are part of a series of 6 which Boluda has contracted for construction at Piriou shipyards. The next two deliveries are scheduled for early 2017.
