It’s the best known photographer about maritime themes.
Valencia – The well known photographer Mirjam Terpstra has visited the headquarter of Tugboats of Boluda Towage and Salvage in Valencia, inside her trip across spanish ports to bring out her last project “ Pilots of the World”, that will keep images about the amazing work done by the pilots of the ports.
Mirjam Terpstra dedicated a complete day to know the port of Valencia and went on board of the tugboat VB Llevant where she had the opportunity to have a complete vision of the manovers, the way our tugboats works and the port of the city.
The artist has worked for the pilots of the ports of Ijmuiden and Amsterdam, where she was awarded with the first price in the exposition “The port works “ given by the port of Amsterdam. In the last years she has focused in the maritime photography,published in 2008 a book of images, “Through the eyes of a pilot”, in a narrow collaboration with the pilots of the port of Anvers. She also have a project of health and education in Iran, to help children of the nomade tribe Bakhtiyari.
