The Puerto de Las Palmas Foundation has recently bestowed its annual awards, an event acknowledging those individuals, institutions and companies which have stood out over the years for their relationship with the Port and their contributions to its development. Bernarda Montero, the general manager of Remolcadores Don Quijote and Off Shore Las Palmas, has been awarded the category of “Career in the Port World”, for her over twenty years dedicated to the industry and her close relationship with the port of Las Palmas. With a degree in Labor Relations, in 1989 she joined a small family business, Remolcadores Don Quijote, with the mission of managing the activity of its two tugboats. Today, over twenty years later, she runs the company and a staff of 25, and is also the general manager and representative of Off Shore Las Palmas, dedicated to providing services to feluccas.
