The regional representative of Boluda Lines in the province of Alicante, Felipe López Pellús, has been elected president of Alicante Port Shipping Agents Association following elections held at its annual general meeting. He replaces José Andrés Martínez, manager of Bergé Marítima. López Pellús already served as president of Alicante Shipping Agents Association between 2008 and 2012.

The new president of the Shipping Agents Association of Alicante port has worked in the shipping company Boluda Lines since 1998. In this year Boluda Corporación Marítima acquired Naviera Pinillos, the company he worked for since 1988, first as a commercial rep in Alicante and head of the regional office in Alicante and from 1993 in the commercial department of the Canary Line.

In 1999, Felipe López was appointed commercial manager of Boluda Lines’ Balearic Line, and in 2003 he took over as manager of Boluda Lines subsidiary Miller y Cía. in Alicante, handling shipping agent, stevedoring and freight forwarding business.

During his professional career he has contributed to the maritime sector in other capacities such as on the advisory board of the Port of Alicante Stevedoring Society from 2007 to 2012. From 2008 to 2012 he served as president of the Association of Shipping Agents of Alicante, on the advisory board of the Alicante Port Foundation, advisor to the Alicante Port Authority, member of the Alicante Chamber of Commerce Navigation Commission and member of the COEPA executive committee. He has also been president of the Alicante Chamber of Commerce Navigation Commission since 2010.
