Boluda has sponsored all 23 editions
On Christmas night the Los Llanos harbour in the Tenerife port once again provided the perfect setting for a magical Puertos de Tenerife Christmas concert. All 20,000 tickets sold out for this unmissable live entertainment event sponsored by Boluda Corporación Marítima.
Following 23 years of collaboration Boluda Corporación Marítima once again sponsored the Puertos de Tenerife traditional Christmas concert organized by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife port authority. The event, held on 25 December, celebrated its 23rd year with a new production in which the soprano Ainhoa Arteta, recently awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts from the Council of Ministers, lent her voice to Puccini’s most celebrated arias.
As part of the repertoire the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra (OST) performed the opera of Puccini, specifically renowned arias such as Si! My chiamano Mimi and Donde lieta usci, from La Boheme; and Sola, perduta, abbandonata, Manon Lescaut and Vissi d’arte, from the opera Tosca, under the baton of conductor Victor Pablo Pérez, who previously lead the OST in this emblematic Christmas celebration in 2011.
Participating in the recital in addition to the Basque soprano were young artist Sislena Caparrosa, with a subtle interpretation of O mio babbino caro, by Gianni Schicchi; and the Canarian soprano Candelaria González with Besay Pérez, who touched the audience’s hearts with the carol Una sobre el mismo mar, the latter also lending her voice to the equally recognisable pasodoble Islas Canarias.
The concert was held on the unique stage constructed last year from Boluda Lines containers, which has increased audience capacity and provided a better location and improved views to enjoy the post-performance fireworks display.
In addition to Puccini, the program included popular compositions such as Azulao and Modinha by Argentinian musician Jaime Ovalle; Negra sombra, a ballad by Juan Montes; La rosa y el sauce, by fellow Argentinian Carlos Gustavino and the equally popular Alfonsina y el mar, by Ariel Ramirez.
This 23rd edition of the Puertos de Tenerife Christmas concert again showed solidarity by supporting the DISA Foundation, which as in previous years donated 20,000 euros to a charitable cause: this year to the Aspronte project Club de ocio.
