Valencia- The foundation King Jaime 1 awards announced the past 2 of june, the winners of the King Jaime awards 2015, who went to the scientists, researchers and businessmen : Luis Manuel Liz-Marzán ( basic research), Josep Brugada ( surgery medicine) Juan José Dolado ( Economy), Josep Peñuelas ( Protection of environment) and the Spanish association against Cancer ( social commitment).
In a solemn act celebrated in the Palace of Generalitat, the executive president of the foundation king Jaime I awards, Santiago Grisolia, announced the seven winners, accompanied by the chief of The Council, Alberto Fabra and by Vicente Boluda, president of the valencian foundation of advanced studies, promoter of the awards. Vicente Boluda is also vice-president of the foundation Jaime I awards and jury of the entrepreneur award, in his quality of chairman of the Valencian Association of businessmen.
In his intervention, Boluda highlighted that “ Education, science and research and the business venture are the three pillars who, together with the basis of sponsoring, will make sustainable the state of welfare. He encouraged the companies to station for innovation and investigation, and lobby the governors to do the same with the education, the science and the business venture.
The King Jaime I awards, who celebrate this year their twenty seventh edition are provided with 100 000 euros in each of the seven modalities, are established by the Generalitat and the Valencian foundation of advanced studies (FVEA) to stimulate and recognize the investigation and its jury is composed by 21 nobel prices.
