The rescue took place with winds higher than 40 knots and waves till 8 meters high.

The tug VB Ártico, of the fleet of Boluda Towage and Salvage, has rescue the boat “Lisa”, boat multipurpose of dry charge, that was at about 630 miles from the Azores Islands, in the area of North Atlantic without control, for suffering a break down in the machine.

The rescue and following tow to Ponta Delgada (Azores), took place in hard meteorological condition, with winds over the 40 knots and waves till 8 meters high.

The tug VB Ártico that was berthed in Ceuta was alerted of the Lisa’s break down also charged with 6000 tons of clinker, to tow it to the closest port.

After waiting the light of the day and in vision of the storm warning from the weather report, 900 meters of tow cable are let out and the trip to Ponta Delgada started towing 40 tons of pull.

The VB Ártico, after 5 days of a complicated journey, delivered the boat “Lisa” to the tugs of the port of Ponta Delgada, then inside the shelter port, and continued its route to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The skill and specialization of the crew of the VB Ártico, permitted to realized this complicated operation with an high precision.
