Through its division Amasur, in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Amasur, company dedicated in works of port berth of Boluda Corporación Marítima, has participated in a simulation of fight against marine pollution  with the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The operation that simulated the containment of an hypothetic spill, consisted in expanding a barrier in the estuary of the inner East Harbour. The maneuver to Slide the barrier from side to side in the estuary lasted ten minutes, and with this action the hypothetic spill will be controlled. Once enclosed the area, the rest of the means who eliminates the stain will intervene.

Also to be able to face a situation of risk, are set in each inner harbor of the port, a container with all the material necessary for an emergency: anti-pollutions barriers, inflatable containment barriers, skimmers, hydraulics equipments, electric generators, floating and setting deposits, etc. With this material, any kind of spill can be stopped, closing quickly the four inner harbours, Los Llanos, Anaga, Este and Pesca.

Amasur has participated, for many years, together with the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the training of its personal to face situations of emergency like the simulation realized, both have a huge technical device that is activated, subject to a protocol of eventualities, in these situations.

Boluda Corporación Marítima has a big sensibility in the care and conversation of marine environment, sparing no efforts neither in equipments nor in persons in the fight against pollution. Boluda Towage and Salvage, division of port and offshore towage and maritime salvage of Boluda Corporación Maritima, collaborates since 1990 with the Spanish Administration in the Development of the National Plan of Salvage and Fight against pollution together with the Salvage Society and Maritime Security ( Sasemar ).
