Twelve of its crew members will be able to practice as Great Naval Mechanics in merchant ship till 6.000 kilowatt, after adquiring the formation.
Boluda Towage and Salvage, the division of harbour towage and ocean going towage of Boluda Corporación Marítima, is preparing its personal of tugs in the Integrated Center of Professional Formation Hespérides, with a formation class, that will allow the great naval mechanics, according to the current normative, to work in ships till 3.000 kw, to exercise, once the formation is finished, as engine officers and chiefs in merchant ships till 6.000 kw.
In these moments, there is a group of 12 workers assisting at the formative action, being preview that, when the clase finishes, the next 8th of march, a second edition stars, that will prepare a new group of workers.
The Councellor of Education, Formation and Employment of the Autonomic Community of Murcia, Constantino Sotoca, and the the General Manager of formation, Begoña Iniesta, visited the last 26th the headquarter that Boluda Towage and Salvage have in Cartagena, to know in first hand the formation that the crew members are reciving, result of the agreement subscribed between the Company and the educative center Hespérides, depending from the Autonomic Community.
The Councellor, the General Manager, the Manager of the Center Hespérides and the professors of the class, were welcome in Cartagena by José Luis González, Manager of Boluda Towage and Salvage Spain, Francisco Tirado, Human Resources Manager, Alfonso Garrido, Responsible of Formation in Boluda Corporación Maritima and José Blas Isaac, Headquarter Chief of Boluda Towage and Salvage in Cartagena. They made a tour on board of a tug where two of the students were explaining in situ the formation adquired.
Sotoca has appreciated that “Boluda Corporación Marítima has trust in the regional ministry to update and improve the professionals abilities of its workers”, that in his own opinion, put in evidence “ the quality of the formation offered and the sensibility of the company, that bet clearly for the innovation and the competitivity.”
On his behalf, José Luis González has stand out that “ the formation is inside the philosophy of Boluda Corporacion Marítima, the workers still getting formation during all their career, that allow to dispose of crews prepared to develop its activity in any kind of ship and that convert them in highly motivated workers.”
The crew members assist to the clases in the morning and afternon in working time Schedule, and have the ocasion to put in practice immediatly the knowledges adquired. “ The company has given to us the opportunity to keep getting trained in order of not be blocked professionally”, comented one of the studends, Santiago Dominguez.
The spirit and ilusion of the Manager of the Center Hespérides, Antonio Arroyo, that has inspired the making of these classes, making easier that the workers of Boluda Towage and Salvage get the expected formation, has been stood out.
