It’s just a week now since the Boluda Corporación Marítima has launched their new 90 ton anchor handling tug supply vessel, owned by Italian Rimorchiatori Reuniti. A technologically advanced and innovative project which has been under construction for the last twelve months, effectively since the introduction of the keel last December.
AH Floriana is an anchor handling tug supply vessel which has been specially designed for developing supply operations between offshore units, from jointly handling anchors, securing barges for pipe laying, semi-submarines and chains. This vessel is also designed for towing barges and other vessels. Technical features include this vessel’s 64.35 metre length, a 15 metre beam, a 6 metre depth and a 4.90 metre draught.
The official launch ceremony was attended by Rafaello Corradi, representing the owner, and presided over by Alicia Martín, chief executive of the Boluda Corporación Marítima, accompanied by Luis Martín Aragón, the shipyard’s manager and Carlos Guerrero, marketing manager for Boluda Shipyards. The construction of this anchor handling tug supply vessel will extend the Valencia based shipbuilder’s field of work, formerly specializing in the construction of tug boats, oil tankers, cargo ships and lifeboats, effectively branching out and increasing the shipyard’s potential for orders. The official handover for this particular vessel is planned for April 2010.
