The division in charge of operating the Port Terminals for Boluda Corporación Marítima has recently extended Terminal La Luz by some 45,000 square metres. This expansion programme results in the terminal now covering 165,000 square metres and also an extra 300 metres of quayside with which the company will be able to increase its business turnover accordingly. With the terminal’s expansion La Luz will now be able to handle the equivalent of 450,000 TEU’s as opposed to the current 300,000.
This expansion is the outcome of an agreement reached between Boluda, the Las Palmas port authorities and Contenemar, the owner of Terminal LMC, located next to La Luz and from where the Valencian shipping company has acquired the space for the terminal’s extension. As a result, the Boluda Corporación Marítima is continuing to expand upon the company’s growth and is also becoming firmly established as a leader in port terminal management.
