Valencia, September 22, 2022. Close to 3,000 spectators attended the Symphonic Concert presented last September 17 by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria (OFGC) at the facilities of Boluda Maritime Terminals Las Palmas, in the Port of La Luz, sponsored once more by Boluda Corporación Marítima.

The Gran Canaria Philharmonic, conducted by Josep Gil, returned to the 26th International Festival of Theatre, Music and Dance (Temudas Fest) with its performance at Boluda Maritime Terminals Las Palmas with a concert, “Madrid-London-New York”, which offered a new vision of two of the great classics of the musical repertoire most beloved by the public, such as “Rhapsody in Blue” by George Gershwin and “The Three-Cornered Hat” by Manuel de Falla.

For “Rhapsody in blue” they were joined by Marco Mezquida, a renowned jazz pianist, improviser and composer who delighted the audience with his version of Gershwin’s famous work and his really jazzy style. The Jazz Trio, formed by Marco Mezquida on piano, David Xirgu on drums and Marko Lohikari on double bass, took on a new multi-soloist role in perfect combination with the OFGC. Antonio Serrano, undisputed ace of the harmonica, took an iconic composition such as “The three-cornered hat” by Falla to his own realm with a version that was entirely his own.

The Temudas International Festival, organized by the City Council of Las Palmas, again had the collaboration of Boluda Corporación Marítima, which sponsored the symphonic concert as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility policy to promote initiatives related to culture.
