The shipping company aims to strengthen commercial relations established in 2017 with a new shipping line from the Canary Islands

The event takes place in the capital of the country Praia from 14 to 18 November

Boluda Corporación Marítima’s shipping division Boluda Lines is participating with its own stand in its first attendance at Cape Verde International Fair (FIC). The 22nd edition of the exhibition takes place in the city of Praia, the capital of the country, located on the island of Santiago, from 14 to 18 November 2018. Boluda is the only company in the sector in Spain to attend this fair.

Boluda Lines is attending the Cape Verde trade fair as part of the shipping company’s commitment to expand its commercial contacts with this Atlantic country since opening a commercial line in 2017 between Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the ports of Palmeira, Sal Rei, Praia and Mindelo, on the islands of the Republic of Cape Verde. Boluda Lines transports a wide variety of produce and perishable goods in refrigerated containers from the Canary Islands to Cape Verde. In fact, since last year the country has received a varied offer of Spanish fruit and vegetables, including shipment of the Canarian plantain, both for local consumption and to supply large hotel chains.

Exhibiting at stands 26 to 29 of the FIC facilities, Boluda Corporación Marítima’s comprehensive transport logistics and international cargo management division will showcase its commitment to connecting the Iberian Peninsula with the Canary Islands, and to entering new commercial markets such as Cape Verde as part of its commercial strategy of service expansion and internationalization. During the last year the number of lines offered has grown from 11 to 14: in addition to the Canarian archipelago, the maritime routes now link the Iberian Peninsula with Cape Verde, the Balearic Islands, northern Europe and the west coast of Africa, in addition to the Paraná-Paraguay Waterway in Latin America.

Boluda’s shipping company has also improved maritime services by expanding the reefer container fleet, investing mainly in 45ft reefers, the most in-demand containers in the sector. Boluda Lines currently has 1,500 40ft and more than 100 45ft reefer containers and in 2019 the company is planning to continue along the lines of this years’ major investment in 45ft reefers.

Last year 118 companies, 230 stands and 10,000 visitors took part in International Feira of Cape Verde International Fair, which this year has 130 exhibitors.
