His role will be to strengthen services at the logistics platforms of La Luz (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), Fuerteventura (Puerto del Rosario), Terminal Marítima del Guadalquivir (Seville) and Vilagarcía de Arousa

Boluda Lines’ subsidiary Boluda Terminales Marítimas has appointed Francisco Montes as the new manager of its four marine terminals in Spain: logistics platforms owned by Boluda Corporación Marítima that handle all loading, unloading and storage operations, and represent the interface between marine and other modes of transport.

The facilities are located in the ports of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (La Luz Maritime Terminal), Seville (Guadalquivir Maritime Terminal), Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura Maritime Terminal) and Vilagarcía de Arousa (Vilagarcía de Arousa Maritime Terminal).

55 years old and originally from Estepona (Malaga), Francisco Montes is a Marine Civil Engineering graduate with 34 years’ professional experience in the maritime sector. Starting his career as a pilot in the merchant marines, he has worked in the maritime terminal sector since 1998, acquiring a great deal of experience along the way. His last project before joining Boluda Corporación Marítima involved the international development of a new maritime terminal, a green field project that started operations in early 2017.

The new manager of Boluda Terminales Marítimas is enthusiastic about the challenge, as in his view “it’s a very important and attractive opportunity for any professional in the sector to direct the company’s logistics services strategy”. “Boluda,” he added, “has a tremendous potential in its portfolio, with abundant development opportunities”.

Francisco Montes’ main focus will be to strengthen existing connections and further improve the scope and operation of the maritime terminals. He will also seek new business opportunities and optimize existing resources to improve productivity in the terminals.

Backed up by his experience in managing logistics services platforms, the new manager believes that the four terminals managed by Boluda Lines have “a solid track record and a future ripe with opportunities, permitting productive development and the possibility of expansion when the company sees fit “.

Francisco Montes’s appointment is part of the company’s unwavering strategy of attracting talent and professional experience to strengthen and consolidate the corporation’s services.
