Its performance surpasses current standards
Next week Boluda Corporación Marítima’s harbour and off-shore towage and maritime salvage division, Boluda Towage and Salvage, will carry out sea trials of its new tug “VB Xerea”, the second of the series that goes into service in Valencia port next month.
The VB Xerea is part of a series of ten next-generation tugboats that combine Boluda’s know-how and experience in the sector with Robert Allan’s prestigious naval architects studio and Zamakona Shipyards.
This new generation of tugs represents a revolution and evolution in the towing industry, with ground-breaking features such as power optimization, improved crew comfort and maximized safety and maneuverability.
Among its standout specifications are real-time data transmission and collection, parametrization and immediate man-ship interaction, making the tug a “Smart Ship”. Boluda is the pioneer in using this type of technology in the sector. Also outstanding is the tug’s energy efficiency, which allows us to adapt to port operations and services, reducing emission levels without reducing operational capacity, in line with Boluda Corporación Marítima’s Corporate Social Responsibility policy objectives.
