The Business Leadership Award, organized annually by the magazine Gaceta 3 in Valencia, has been awarded to Boluda Corporación Marítima’s transport division Boluda Lines, in recognition of the optimal connection the shipping company provides between the peninsula and the Canary Islands. Vice-president of Boluda Corporación Marítima Ignacio Boluda collected the award from the president of the Valencia port authority Aurelio Martínez, at an event held at the Las Arenas hotel on 10 November.

This award consolidates Boluda Lines’ business growth, driven by the significant increase in business registered by the company in the last few months, combined with a determination to continue opening up new lines of business in international markets and to improve its leadership position in the Canary Islands.

In fact, Boluda Lines has registered a remarkable increase in cargo capacity, estimated at over 50%, to which is added the increase in the frequency of routes with a noticeably reduced times, with the clear objective of improving the connection between the Canary Islands and the mainland.

To improve services the shipping company has added sister ships the Nordcheetah and the Nordluchs, 170 metres long, 28 m beam and with capacity for 1400 TEUs and 14 tons, taking their total number of vessels to 10. Boluda Lines also has increased its container fleet by 2,500 units, mainly reefer.

Providing shipping agent, freight forwarding, land transport, port logistics and warehousing services through its more than 60 offices worldwide, Boluda Lines currently operates 10 commercial lines connecting mainland Spain with the Canary and Balearic Islands, Italy, northern Europe, the west coast of Africa and Cape Verde.

This Boluda Corporación Marítima division is highly specialized in transporting perishable goods and frozen fish. Its regular weekly services with excellent transit times and its fleet and load capacity more than meet the strict requirements of the cold chain logistics sector.

Boluda Lines has also recently added 25 new Volvo FM 460s to its truck fleet. The new vehicles, with an investment of two million euros, are equipped to transport both dry cargo and reefer containers and will mainly operate domestic routes.

With these new units Boluda Trucks now owns 50 trucks, which strengthens its service offer considerably, optimizing route connection times and facilitating greater and more efficient control over the services provided to clients.

The rapid growth of Boluda Lines is highlighted by the inauguration last summer of a new office in Barcelona, located on the 22nd floor of the Colón Building.
