The visit forms part of the collaboration negotiations taking place between the two entities.
The Chairman and CEO of the port of Nouadhibou, Hamed Ould Hademine Ould Jelvoune, together with Technical Manager Alieoune Ould, undertook a two-day visit to the port of Las Palmas and the Boluda Corporación Marítima facilities. The first day was spent learning about the port towage activities that Boluda carries out in the port of Las Palmas, whilst the second was spent visiting La Luz container terminal, where the visitors expressed their interest in the technical equipment, machinery and staff training. The Mauritanian managers were accompanied by Sergio Galván, manager of the Port of Las Palmas Foundation.
The purpose of the visit was to obtain first-hand experience of the maritime services provided by Boluda as a leading company in the sector, together with its extensive experience in port towage and bunkering. To this end, a meeting was held with Joaquín Quiles, Assistant to the Chairman, and Jesus Alarcón, Manager of VB Comisarios de Averías, during which different collaboration options were studied.
Through Boluda Lines, its comprehensive freight transport division, Boluda Corporación Marítima runs scheduled weekly lines to the Mauritanian ports of Nouadhibou and Nouakchott.
