The councellor of the sea of the Galicia, Rosa Quintana, has visited the Terminal of containers of Vilagarcia operated by Boluda Lines since 2011 and uses a regular line : Bilbao-Vilargarcia-Lisboa-Canaria. From the Canaries, it’s possible to connect with the main ports of Occidental Africa which increase notably the possibilities of use of this insfracstructure por the companies of hinterland of the port of Vilagarcia who search to open to new markets or consolidate their international presence.

The dock generated a mouvement last year of 250 000 tons and in the two first months of 2016 the number of TEUs moved by the terminal has been increased in a 21%.

Rafael Lozano, manager of the terminal explain to the councellor the benefits of the maritime transport and expressed his trust that the arrival of the tren to Ferrazo suppose the possibility to catch merchandises coming from Madrid and other points of  the peninsula: “The train is more economic and ecologic, told Lozano. Also, he confirmed the interest of Boluda to put in motion a second line that follow the path of the success that goes through Vilagarcia and that give the opportunity to situate the products that leave from Arousa in markets of Africa and Canaries. The intention is that, sooner rather than later, a second line get us to the heart of Europe.

The councellor was accompanied by Sagrario Franco, President of the Port Autority of Vilagarcía, Begoña Mesejo, Manager of  the port of Vilagarcía, Alfonso González, commercial manager and Xavier Fernández, chief of security and environment.
