Zamakona is the shipyard in charge of the development and its building.

Boluda Towage and Salvage, the division of port and offshore towing, maritime salvage of Boluda Corporacion Maritima, will incorporate to its fleet 10 tugboats of new building of AVT style ( Avance Voith Tractor) to give workds of tow in port, sea and escort. The prestigious naval architecture studio of the Canadian Robert Allan has been in charge of the project, who together with the know how to act and the great experience of Bolud in the offshore and port towing, have managed to optimized a tugboat under the 500 GT, obtening a better product for this operations, going further the known standards till now to become without any doubt in a reference in the sector. The serie of 10 tugboats will be build in the basque shipyards of Zamakona.

This new generation of tugboats increase its pull in fixed point till the 80 tons due to the propellant who guarantee the delivery of the maximum power without intermediary mechanical loss. They have 31,57 metres long, 12,8 metres large, a draft of 6,5 metres and they seem to reach a speed of 13,5 knuts. They incorporate diesel engines Caterpillar Mark, with a power of 7500 BHP, propulsion Voith and machinery of desk by Ibercisa. They improve noticeably the post of control and have an excellente manoeuvrability in port as well as in sea.

It stands out that a special attention has been taken in the energetic politic efficiency that Boluda makes for ages in its fleet. In this cases it has been developed and included a system of control that allow to adjust the operative of each tugboat to its port, allowing to reduce the emissions without damaging the operative.

Zamakon will do the first two deliveries at the end of 2016 and successively all over the next 5 years.

This new constructions are into the programe of modernisation and renoval of the fleet Boluda has put in motion, and that have also the objectif to increase the power of pull of the tugboats who give service in Spain.
