The VB Fos will provide service in the new terminal of gas Saygo of Montevideo
Boluda Towage and Salvage, the port towage, ocean going, off shore and maritime salvage, has incorporated to the fleet of tugboats of Boluda America and more specifictly its filial in the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Remolcadores y Lanchas, S.A, the new unit called VB Fos.
The VB Fos is a tugboat of last generation, of 7000 HP of power, with a capacity of pull in fixed point of 90 tons, 36 meters long, 13 large and 5,60 of mainstay, is equipped with two main motors Yanmar 6N330-EN and double propulsion acimutal in stern Kawasaki Rexpeller KST-240ZC/A and was built in the shipyards of Kanagawa Dockyard Co, Ltd. Japan.
It is classified by Lloyds Register as 100 A1, Fi-Fi 1, Escort tug, has all the necessary equipment of security to provide service in the maritime oil or gas terminals. Its capacity of fighting against fires and marine contamination consist of two bombs of 1500 m3/hour each one, Water Spray and tanks for foam and marine disperse.
In the same way, the new boat of 659 tons of raw register, is perfectly equipped for the navigation and the offshore towage, counting with a double winche of towage of 860 meters of cable of 54 mm, Tow Pin of 200 tons, Stern Roller and a complete equipment of navigation that includes among them, double radar, GPS, GPS Plotter, Echo Sounding line, Automatic pilot, AIS e Inmarsaat C.
The new tugboat VB Fos will incorporate itself in the next days to its first work in the terminal of tankers in Ivory Coast to then after get to its definitive destination in Montevideo at the service of the new terminal Gas Sayago that will be inaugurated soon.
