In September 2025, Boluda Shipping acquired Transfesa’s railway business in the Iberian Peninsula, offering more environmentally friendly door-to-door logistics solutions by promoting the use of green corridors and contributing to the reduction of CO₂ emissions and carbon footprint. In this way, we increase our operational capacity while diversifying our current customer service portfolio, integrating new routes and combining more sustainable transport modes.

Rail Traction and Multimodal Transport

The general cargo and Iberian traction business line provides comprehensive rail freight transport services, offering end‑to‑end solutions that range from locomotive traction to the supply of wagons. This enables the handling of a wide variety of cargo types, including:

containers/intermodal – steel products – forestry cargo

Railway Maintenance Services

Comprehensive transformation, repair, and maintenance services carried out in our own workshops, as well as on‑track assistance, for both our own railway equipment and that of third parties. We operate 3 in‑house workshops and 11 Mobile Units

• Preventive maintenance (regular inspections)
• Corrective maintenance (accidental repairs) for freight wagons and auxiliary rolling stock (axles, containers, and swap bodies)

Maintenance services in third‑party workshops:

• Preventive and corrective maintenance for passenger and freight trains, as well as painting and vinyl application for wagons and locomotives
• Repair and maintenance of railway components such as diesel engines, evaporators, traction motors, compressors, climate control equipment, bogies, pantographs and so on.

Rail Terminal Management

• Cargo management: handling and management of containers or ITUs (Intermodal Transport Units).
• Shunting services

Railway Training School

Our training school is certified by the Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Ferroviaria (AESF), the Spanish State Agency for Railway Safety, to provide instruction in train driving, traffic management, and train driver operations. More information available at
