The company has expanded its fleet in La Réunion with a new Damen ASD 2811 tug, further enhancing its operational capabilities and reinforcing its commitment to port development in the Indian Ocean.
Boluda Towage continues to strengthen its presence in the Indian Ocean with the addition of the new tug VB AUDACE to its La Réunion operation. Built in 2026 by Damen Song Cam shipyard and belonging to the ASD 2811 series, the vessel is already in service at the Port of Le Port, where it has been operating since mid-September.
The arrival of VB AUDACE represents a significant addition to the fleet operated by Boluda Towage in La Réunion and reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering safe, efficient and reliable towage services tailored to the needs of the region’s leading ports. According to Christophe CP. Picard, Managing director of Boluda La Réunion, the new tug has been added to “strengthen and complete the fleet in service for the port”.
With an engine output of 5,102 HP, VB AUDACE delivers a bollard pull of 60 tonnes, enabling it to support a wide range of harbour towage operations. Like the rest of Damen’s ASD 2811 series, the vessel has been designed to meet the highest standards of safety, manoeuvrability and operational performance.
The entry into service of this new unit further enhances Boluda Towage’s ability to respond to growing maritime traffic in the region and reinforces the company’s commitment to continuously modernising its fleet with state-of-the-art vessels.
Just days after arriving on the island, VB AUDACE successfully completed its first operations, demonstrating its rapid integration into local port activities.
