Juan Gonzalez, President of Boluda Towage and Salvage, passed away aged 70 in Cadiz on Sunday 7 August.

Born in Ceuta, Gonzalez was a captain in the Merchant Navy. He spent most of his career navigating tugs, mainly for Sertosa, where he held positions such as harbour tug master and base commander, and worked in inspection and human resources, before moving into management. When Sertosa became part of Boluda Corporación Marítima in the 90s, Gonzalez was appointed Director General of Boluda Tugs in Spain. For 10 years he presided over Boluda Towage and Salvage, which operates more than 150 tugs in subsidiaries in Spain, France and Africa. He was also vice president of ANARE, an entity that was to award him a medal on 6 September.

Married with two children, he was an impeccable professional and a great person; very dear to everyone at Boluda Corporación Marítima, who deeply lament the loss of such irreplaceable individual. May he rest in peace.
