Boluda Towage and Salvage tug VB MEDITERRANEO escorts Spain’s first marine wind turbine to final destination on Gran Canarian coast

Capable of generating five megawatts of power, the maritime turbine was constructed in the port of Arinaga and its final destination is the Jinámar coast, next to the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (Plocan), situated between Las Palmas and Telde

The structure is 115 metres tall – twice the height of the Maspalomas lighthouse – and its three blades measure 64.4 metres each

Boluda Towage and Salvage’s tugboat the VB MEDITERRANEO took part this week in the complex towage of Spain’s first marine wind turbine from the southeast dock of Arinaga port in Agüimes, Gran Canaria, to the coast of Jinámar. The new wind energy project has a total budget of 20,675,676 euros, 13,679,848 euros funded by the European Union through its Horizon 2020 program. Continue reading

The 55th European Towing Association (ETA) Annual Meeting, which took place in Antwerp (Belgium) in May, confirmed that Boluda Corporación Marítima is on the right track. In fact, the meeting was followed by a conference on “Towage and digitalization”, which presented the different ways in which digital technologies could benefit the towage sector, an area which Boluda Towage and Salvage has been prioritizing since 2016 by gradually increasing their fleet of next-generation smart ships. Open from 1 to 5 June, the exhibition was organized by Valenciaport and 9 other companies in the sector to mark World Environment Day

Alongside Valenciaport and eight other companies in the sector Boluda Corporación Marítima participated in an exhibition on environmental protection measures held to mark World Environment Day from 1 to 5 June at the Clock Tower Building. This initiative, visited by about 1,100, mostly school groups, was an opportunity for Valenciaport and the other participating companies to demonstrate their commitment to the environment by communicating their measures aimed at reducing the impact of port activity. Boluda Lines donates 40ft container to Manos de Ayuda Social, an NGO providing food for people at risk of social exclusion in Madrid

The container will be used as a space to house the non-profit organization’s canteen equipment

Boluda Corporación Marítima’s shipping company Boluda Lines donated a 40 foot container in a further collaboration with Manos de Ayuda Social, an association providing food aid since 2011 to people without resources in their meal centre in the Ventas neighbourhood in Ciudad Lineal, Madrid.
