Boluda Shipyards lauches a second tug bound for the North sea

The tug, which goes by the name of Bonxie, will be operating from the port of Sullom Voe, the United Kingdom’s largest petroleum export terminal

This morning, the Boluda Shipyards installations witnessed the launch of “Bonxie”, the tug specially built for the Shetland Islands Council. The Boluda Corporación Marítima, the division which focuses on the construction and repair of vessels, has been working for approximately twelve months on the construction of this tug which will mainly operate in the North Sea, from the Sullom Voe terminal, alongside “Solan”, the twin tug launched a couple of months ago. Los remolcadores Sertosa Ocho y Sertosa Veintisiete auxilian a dos buques varados en La Línea

Los buques tanque Vemaoil XXI y Vemaoil IX, propiedad del armador griego Queensway Navigation, estuvieron a punto de colisionar el pasado mes de diciembre contra la dársena de la Línea de la Concepción, debido al temporal de viento que azotaba la zona. Los buques, fondeados habitualmente en aguas cercanas a Gibraltar, tuvieron que ser auxiliados de urgencia por un grupo de prácticos del puerto de Algeciras, Salvamento Marítimo y dos remolcadores con base en puerto algecireño, el Sertosa 8 y Sertosa 27, pertenecientes a la flota de Boluda Towage.
