The towage and salvage subsidiary Boluda France has a fleet of 77 tugs operating both in France and in its overseas offices on the Reunion and Mayotte islands, as well as in Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, the Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Togo

The French ambassador to Spain Yves Saint Geours received Antonio Bordils, CEO of Boluda Towage and Salvage, the maritime towing and salvage division of Boluda Corporación Marítima, who has invested in France since 2007 through its subsidiary Boluda France. In May the ambassador held a lunch for executives of seven other major investors, and for those with significant investment projects in the country.

Organized by the French Embassy in Spain, the events are focused on exchanging experiences and opinions and networking, in order to improve reception in France and attract more companies. This type of event is usually held several times a year to give a voice to the most important of the 1,300 Spanish companies established in France.

As an investor in France, Boluda Corporación Marítima has attended on several occasions to demonstrate its interest in the country.

Speaking to the ambassador Antonio Bordils stressed that “after ten years operating in France, at Boluda Corporación Marítima we are extremely satisfied with this investment, which has positioned our company as one of the most important European and world players in port towage”.

Boluda France currently owns 77 tugboats and provides port, coastal and offshore towing services in France: in the ports of Dunkerque, Le Havre, Brest, Nantes-Saint-Nazaire, La Rochelle and Marseille-Fos; in its overseas departments in the Indian Ocean: the Reunion and Mayotte Islands, and in five countries off the coast of West Africa: Morocco (Tangier Med), Mauritania (Nouadhibou), Senegal (Dakar), Ivory Coast Abidjan), Cameroon (Douala) and Togo (Lomé).

New Tugs

In May Boluda France launched two new innovative and high-performance tugboats, the VB Tornade in the port of Le Havre in the north west of France, and the VB Volcan in the port of Reunion Island, east of Madagascar, in the Indian Ocean.

These additions are in line with Boluda Corporación Marítima’s business strategy to develop and modernize its fleet. The tugs are already providing towing services in port, at sea and offshore, as well as maritime rescue services in the Atlantic and Indian oceans.

Both ASD multipurpose vessels have a 70 ton bollard pull, state-of-the-art technology to carry out agile manoeuvres, and are perfectly adapted to the technical operation requirements of their respective ports, to help improve safety and reliability in maritime operations.

Boluda Towage and Salvage is a national and international leader, with a fleet of almost 250 tugs throughout the main ports of Europe, the west coast of Africa, Latin America and the Indian Ocean.
